With wide, triangular leaves stacked loosely into a star-shaped pattern, Gasteria ‘Little Warty’ draws its name from the bumpy texture of its leaves, which range in hue from light to dark green and can take on a coppery tinge when provided with ample light. That said, this variety is able to not only survive but thrive in dimmer conditions than many succulents, making it an exceptional indoor grower in nearly any home.  Reaching only 5 inches tall and wide at maturity, ‘Little Warty’ can be tucked into any windowsill, desk, or other surface where a splash of color and texture is needed!

While this specimen can tolerate lower light, it absolutely cannot tolerate ‘wet feet,’ so care must be taken to avoid overwatering. Starting with a porous soil mixture within a well-draining pot, followed by a thorough but infrequent watering routine, will have you well on the road to success with ‘Little Warty.’  Furthermore, this succulent plant’s fleshy leaves are hardy only to Zone 10, so take care to protect it from frost during the chilly winter months.

During the active growing season, a contented ‘Little Warty’ will send up inflorescences of bell-shaped blooms in a stunning shade of coral pink, which contrasts perfectly with the varied green of its leaves.
